Vermont furniture maker juried into Fine Furnishings Show
Fair Haven, VT-Local Vermont furniture maker, Walt Stanley of Brookside Woodworking, was selected to participate in Rhode Island’s 20th Annual Fine Furnishings Show this November 6-8, 2015 at the Pawtucket Armory Arts Center. Stanley is excited and honored, as well, to have two of his pieces featured in the show marketing materials. Brookside’s participation is supported by a grant provided by the Working Lands Enterprise Initiative. The show features American made, handcrafted furniture, accessories & art. Each show has a combination of local, regional and national artists & craftsmen showing & selling their work.
Walt was born and raised in Vermont and has been a furniture maker, self-taught, for over 25 years. As someone who lives in a primarily rural state, he understands the struggle in having consumers find his product and knows that an internet presence is absolutely key. Back in March, Route 7 Social, LLC and Riley Moore Studios redesigned Stanley’s 15 year old website for today’s technologies. When you visit the website it is clear that Walt upholds an esteemed tradition of New England furniture making, where every heirloom-quality item is handcrafted with traditional methods and the finest, locally-sourced materials. His work is inspired by classic Shaker and Arts & Crafts forms. Clean lines, graceful curves and subtle details are some of the qualities that describe his work.
Everyone is welcomed to come by to meet Walt and feel real American-made wood products in booth # 118 at the 20th Annual Fine Furnishings Show this November 6-8, 2015. Brookside’s booth will be featuring a living room set in beautiful curly birch with locally quarried slate, done in the arts and crafts style, including a Morris chair, coffee table and end tables.
